The following views are taken from inside Wabtec Rail's Wheel Shop. This facility is housed within the original Erecting Shop building dating from 1853. This is the very spot where over five hundred Patrick Stirling designed locomotives where built, including the now famous 'Singles' with their revolutionary 8ft diameter wheels. |
